2009 and its first annoying bug - We knew there had to be at least one! ;(
Not a deal breaker by no means! But just a little annoying.
I had a customer find this and yes I was able to confirm it and I sent it off the the AutoDesk Gods for the verification and yes they already knew about it and have logged it for quick removal in SP1.
So just what is this annoying little cockroach!
We'll if you use description keys with wild cards that scale up the symbol then you will have problems.
What happens? Well, this is a weird one I might add, what happens it the label text gets blasted out to some weird offset of some huge x-y factor that make no sense? i.e. if you have a key that inserts a tree and that tree symbol is supposed to get scaled up by a factor of say 12 (12") or 24 (24") they the symbol does what it ask to do but the corresponding label is placed somewhere southwest of the insert point something like -12,12
The workaround to to one disable your scaling for your description keys or go into the pt label style and in the Layout tab under the General property change the Anchor point for the description from a Bottom Left to a Middle center. And then you will need to add in some X and Y offset so when the label comes in it is not overlapping the symbol.
Now since I know they are going to fix this (That is what AD said!) I would probably not make the change to my main template file because I know as soon as I do AD will fix it and then I will need to change it back.
Again this is by no means a deal breaker but just a little annoying cockroach that will soon be squashed!
